Biography:
  • Attorney Lyons’ practice focuses on all aspects of real estate law, including permitting, development, construction, financing, purchase and sale agreements, and leasing. Attorney Lyons has more than 17 years of experience serving a broad range of clients and constituents in the land development industry, including land developers, investors, private clients, institutions, non-profit entities, and government agencies.
  • Attorney Lyons has played a leading role in the permitting and development of retail, office, industrial, institutional, recreational, and residential uses. His experience includes permitting with the Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA) Office, the Massachusetts Highway Department, the Massachusetts Department of Conservation & Recreation, and the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection. His experience also includes permitting at the local level, including zoning variances, special permits, subdivisions, comprehensive permits (Chapter 40B), scenic road permits, conservation commission approvals, Article 80 (City of Boston), and municipal licensing. He has also participated in the permitting and approval of energy and transportation infrastructure.
  • Attorney Lyons has provided expert witness litigation services for a wide variety of land use disputes. Attorney Lyons is known for his expertise in smart growth and sustainable development. He is known for his ability to build bridges between owners and stakeholders.

Background:
    Attorney Lyons has a diversified background in transportation planning and engineering. As an engineer and a planner, Attorney Lyons served as a principal and founder in a prominent design firm in Boston, Massachusetts. Attorney Lyons guided the firm from inception through its first three years, building a very successful practice. Through his leadership, the firm grew to 14 employees, with more than thirty clients and more than $1.8 million in gross revenues. Bill continues to consult on planning & engineering matters to select clients through our affiliate, Fort Hill Infrastructure Services, LLC.
